The Pure Awesomeness of Turmeric Facials

Turmeric Can from the Spice Professors

As I walked through the streets of New York, I came across a street fair.  Me and a few people had discussed the benefits of #Turmeric. A man I know first approached me about this wondrous powder.

You Need Turmeric and a Glass or Ceramic Bowl

Just to give you fair warning, Turmeric is often used as a dye. Be careful not to created dripping batch of this stuff.  If it gets onto your clothes it will be ruined. It is necessary to create a paste consistency (making it drip-proof).  Plus it will be easier to apply.  Again, the mixture should be done in a glass or ceramic. This yellow stuff will stain virtually anything...regular plastic bowls included.

You can add Milk and Honey or use Milk only

For my mixture I used just a splash of milk to several pinches of powder.  A small splash at a time will allow you to see what is needed. Perhaps it is too dry and not smooth enough.  Add a tiny bit more milk.  In the event you've added too much milk, balance the mix out.  Add a pinch or two more of Turmeric.

Use only what you need. Mix with a spoon or your finger until you get a paste consistency

Once the paste has a smooth consistency it is ready for application. Look at my little bowl. As you can see I created a very small amount of mixture. I used only milk and turmeric. Feel free to add a tablespoon of honey to your mix if you like. Honey thickens your paste quicker. Plus, honey has antiseptic and healing properties.

Apply your paste to your face.  Use two days back to back once a month.

I smoothed the mixture onto my entire face and neck areas.  Carefully, placed the mask under my eyes. This spice is used to naturally remove dark under eye circles. Rinse your face after 10-15 minutes. My preference for removal is a damp washcloth. Make sure it is a washcloth you don't mind staining. I have one particular washcloth that I used specifically for this facial. I have made a Turmeric mask for healthier skin and  treat an acne breakout.  The blemishes were bigger and noticeable. To the point they turned red. After the first application the acne had shrunk. The redness was gone the next morning. NOTE: Test a small area to check for an allergic reaction. SUGGESTED: Wear clothes you won't mind messing up in the event you get the mix on your clothes.

Afterwards I used Rosewater and Witch Hazel as my Toner. Can be used daily.

I purchased the Rosewater and Witch Hazel at different times. Once I run out I will buy Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel. This will give me the same outcome in one bottle. Dickinson's is another good brand of Witch Hazel. Witch Hazel is a refreshing skin toner.  Any skin type can take advantage of this product. I have combination skin. To remove over active oil producing sebum residue, use Witch Hazel. Simultaneuosly, moisturizes your skin.  Dickinson's is a quality natural grade product.

Witch Hazel comes from an indigenous Snapping Hazel plant.  The secrets of this liquid has long been know to Native Americans.  It is hypoallergenic.  After using this you will notice a decrease in facial blemishes.

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) has antiseptic qualities

After my mask has been completely rinsed of I apply the following: Apple Cider Vinegar, Rosewater, Witch Hazel, and Water. If you like you can get a little spray bottle and apply equal parts 1/2  Teaspoon of each and 1 Cup of Water.  Shake bottle before using, close your eyes and spritz. You can have it already prepared for use after every time you wash your face.
